Central Region
The Central Region
The Central Region holds a special place in the life and mission of the Little Sisters, for it is home to the Mother House Complex. This complex serves not only as the administrative and spiritual heart of the congregation, but also as a living testimony of faith, service, and community life.
At the center of the Mother House Complex is the Chapel, a sacred space where sisters gather daily for prayer, Eucharist, and communal worship, drawing strength for their apostolic work.
The complex is made up of more than eight communities, each fostering different aspects of the congregation’s life. Among these are:
-
The Novitiate, where new members are formed and nurtured in the charism and spirituality of the Little Sisters.
-
St. Kevin’s, a dedicated home for elderly and retired sisters, offering them care, dignity, and the warmth of community as they continue to witness through prayer and presence.
The Mother House Complex thus embodies the fullness of the Little Sisters’ vocation: a place of formation, mission coordination, prayer, and care for members at every stage of their journey.
The Central Region Combines five Ecclesiastical Dioceses: Kampala Archdiocese, Kiyinda Mityana, Masaka, Lugazi, and Kasana – Luweero Dioceses. The Little Sisters of St. Francis are engaged in various ministries including education, healthcare, and social work.
The Region is led by the Regional Superior, Reverend Sr. Jane Frances Nakafeero, alongside her council composed of Sr. Immaculate Leticia Nabukalu as the Vicaress, and Councilors Sisters Justine Namaganda, Rose Basemera, and Josephine Nakaggwa.
They are approximately 217 Sisters serving in 40 communities, involved in diverse ministries.
